HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW ART FAIRS ON FEDEX MAILERS
These scenes are based on fairs that I have visited. The cubicle spaces where gallerists display art appear as small stage sets where all the action takes place. Art fairs are fast moving - in a few days they would all be gone, the artwork packed up and shipped back to galleries, collectors and to other fairs. I have painted these scenes directly on FedEx mailing boxes - at times the FedEx logo is barely visible and at other times it hovers above the scene, a reminder of the mobility and the transitory nature of the art world today.
